Lana’s newest single gave me all of the feelings.
Lana Del Rey’s voice has a way of making you feel like you’ve just stepped into an ice bath. Even the intro to this song is slow and chilling—almost eerie—and it gave me goosebumps right away. She dropped her newest single, “Bluebird,” on April 18th, and the track is unapologetically Lana.
I love how Lana can transport you to another plane entirely with her storytelling. “Bluebird” is beautiful, but also unexpectedly sad, despite the uplifting message woven into the chorus. It’s a gorgeous, technically solid track—very folksy, kind of romanticized, and overflowing with emotion. It hit me right in the feelings.
“Bluebird” is deeply captivating. Lana has this rare gift of holding her audience’s attention from the first lyric to the last, making sure you don’t want to miss a single word. This one definitely belongs on a sad girl playlist.
