TOP 5

5. New Flower!

This song is all about growth and getting to where you want to be at your own pace. Everyone blooms differently and grows up in different situations, and Aminé’s growing period wasn’t exactly easy—but it happened nonetheless. This track is about changing, making differences in your life, and acknowledging that change. It features background vocals from Leon Thomas and makes you want to appreciate every little difference that has happened in your life.

4. Be Easier On Yourself

This track is both endearing and necessary. “Be Easier On Yourself” is a gentle reminder that you deserve time to rest and heal—and that you don’t need to be so hard on yourself. It’s okay to pause, to move at your own pace, and to take breaks. You don’t have to be at 100 percent all the time, and you certainly don’t have to be perfect. The song’s sweet, soothing tone carries a powerful message: stay strong, give yourself grace, and keep going.

3. Raspberry Kisses

This track feels like the perfect modern-day love song. It’s sensual and slightly romantic, but never over the top in either direction. With a touch of funk and a hint of pop, “Raspberry Kisses” is the kind of song you’ll want to blast in the car and sing playfully to your partner. It radiates a flirty, fun energy and adds a light, sweet layer to the album’s overall vibe.

2. Arc de Triomphe

“Arc de Triomphe” is one of those songs that feels all over the place—but in the best possible way. The track boasts a stupid flow, a ridiculously catchy hook, and some top-tier wordplay. It’s playful, petty, and just the right amount of goofy to keep you locked in. This is one of those singles you’ll want to memorize and scream at the top of your lungs with your friends. With a solid beat, infectious energy, and undeniable replay value, it’s a total earworm.

1. Familiar

The only thing keeping me from giving this track a solid 5/5 is its length. “Familiar” is short and sweet, and while I absolutely adore the song, I wish it gave us just a little more time to sit in its vibe. The track centers around the beauty of knowing someone deeply—feeling at ease with them and being able to fully be yourself. It’s a love song rooted in comfort and closeness, simple yet incredibly touching. I’ve had it on repeat since its release on March 14th, and it still hasn’t lost its magic.

Aminé is officially back with his first solo album since 2021, and 13 Months of Sunshine lives up to its name in every way. The 16-track project is bursting with bright energy, signature quirkiness, and heartfelt introspection—reminding fans why he remains one of the most distinct voices in hip-hop.

Right from the jump, the album radiates Aminé’s unmistakable charm. His playful flows, colorful rhythms, and left-field production choices separate him from the rest of the pack. In fact, one of Aminé’s greatest strengths is how instantly recognizable his sound is—you can usually tell it’s his track from the beat alone.

But 13 Months of Sunshine is far from one-note. Across the runtime, Aminé explores a wide spectrum of themes—from lust and romance to growth, mental health, and taking intentional time away. The album encourages listeners to embrace rest, struggle openly, and live life on their own terms. In a time where rap often leans into bravado, Aminé dares to be honest, vulnerable, and weird—in the best way possible.

The project also boasts a variety of unique features that help shape its shifting moods and sonic textures, making every track feel like its own little world. It’s fun, meaningful, and deeply human—everything a great album should be.
